I would like to know how I can get an article published about Westchester County's oldest fire company. We just had our 200th on May 4. I would like to send you the history on the company if you are interested.
We started out as Washington Engine Co #1 and in 1890 became Wasington Hook & Ladder Co. #2

I was in 6th grade when this fire happened. We were told that 2 brothers broke into the school and poured fuel and lite the fire. It was a Saturday and the building burned for many hours. I remember hearing the school bell clanging as the third floor collapsed. As kids we thought that we would get to have time off from school but, as it worked out we reported to Libby that Monday. For a period of time students sat double in a seat while we studied.

I just wanted to thank you for the posts in regards to this and the Triangle Shirt Waist Factory Fire. I used them for a quick drill with the rest of my shift on March 25th, the anniversary of the two incidents. I contacted you before but wasn't quick enough to record your email address when you were kind enough to reply. I am hoping to submit a picture of my great grandfather in his Fuller Hose Fire Company uniform. Please feel free to contact me via my email at leatherlungs8@Hotmail.com or through this website again and I will certainly try to be more timely. Thanks again.
